Setup PayPal

To enable your customers to pay via PayPal, you need a PayPal business account. You can set up this account free of charge at www.paypal.com.

The integration of PayPal simplifies the workflow and automates order processing. After successful payment via PayPal, the customer immediately receives an order confirmation. If downloads have been ordered, they are automatically sent to the customer. A lab order can be automatically forwarded to the lab.

Set up a PayPal account

It only takes a few minutes to set up a PayPal business account. In addition to your personal details, you also enter the bank account to which your customers' payments should be credited in future. After registration, PayPal will transfer an amount of EUR 0.01 to your account with a code in the purpose field. You must then confirm this code in your PayPal account. You can then receive money and offer PayPal in your online gallery.

After your bank account has been confirmed, you must request a so-called API authorization from PayPal so that the customers of your online gallery can pay to your PayPal account. There are two ways to integrate your PayPal account into the online gallery: PayPal Classic (NVP/SOAP API) and PayPal Checkout (REST API).

PayPal ALT / PayPal Classic (NVP/SOAP API)

If you use the classic PayPal integration, your customers can pay in the store using their PayPal account. Payment via PayPal automatically completes the order. We explain how to request the API data for this here:

PayPal NEW / PayPal Checkout (REST API)

If you integrate PayPal Checkout into your online gallery, your customers can not only pay with their PayPal account in your store, but they can also use other payment methods. This means that even customers who do not have a PayPal account can easily pay via PayPal by direct debit or credit card.

After paying via the PayPal checkout, the customer is redirected back to the store and must confirm the order there to complete the purchase. We explain how to request the API data for this here:

Tip: Please carry out a test order in your online gallery via PayPal to check whether you receive the money correctly. Please make sure that you enter your PayPal business customer account details correctly, otherwise no payments will be received.

The PayPal payment method can also be deactivated for individual customers.

Important: The use of PayPal is not free of charge. PayPal charges transaction fees for every incoming payment from your customers. You can view the fees on the PayPal website.

No fees for online payments!

An EU directive states that online merchants may no longer charge fees for certain payment methods. Although this does not legally apply to PayPal as a payment method, PayPal has also made it clear to its merchants in its General Terms and Conditions that it does not charge any fees for online payments.
